Agri Tourism Nebraska's
fastest growing Industry..
An alternative enterprise for
ranchers to help diversify and supplement their traditional operations. Reasons for
including agri-tourism in travel plans are to watch and participate in ranch activities,
education by better understanding where food comes from and the cost of production and
investment, petting farm animals, see orchards, vineyards, organically raised crops and
animals, grazing animals and to see rural areas. One success story that the Tourism
Industry of America recently noted is the state of Vermont, where income from agri-tourism
related activities on farms in 2000 totaled $10.5 million.Of all the farms in that state,
31% received income from agri-tourism.
Explain to the Arizona tourist how the fence stops the grass from
growing, or why it's a different color on the neighbors side.......
